This talk will provide a broad overview of the changing concepts of RA with regards to its epidemiology, immunopathogenesis, clinical criteria, diagnosis, complications, and the modern approach to management and outcomes. It will focus on the role of primary care providers in recognizing early disease and provide some guidelines for early referral to a rheumatologist, with the goal of vastly improving clinical outcomes.
